Laura Burlton's Fairy Tales and Nightmares

Laura Burlton uses a holga to take pictures of young girls they are all wearing white dresses ans some have bunny masks. they way she sets it up seems very eerie and dream-like. fairy tales and nightmares is the perfect title to this series because the pictures demonstrate a very dreamy quality. This is a more artistic series rather than journalistic because shes not just fallowing the girls around and photographing them, shes giving them things to do. the series is a little frightening to me because when i think of my childhood i like to think of the happy things and the "nightmare" aspect of this series makes me alittle uneasy.however, this series makes the nightmares beautiful and thats why i like it. i cannot really compare this photographs to my life because they remind me of a destorted reality but i like that.
