My project is based on the effect of media on society; how the media effects our lives each and every day. Each year millions of dollars and countless hours are spent by people to make themselves look "perfect". To demonstrate this i found it necessary to photograph people doing things they do in their daily lives that maybe wouldn't be so important if it were not for the constant pressure's of society.

special thanks to my sister rachel for being so nice and letting my photograph her for once :)

Sorry Mary, I had to delete my comment because I spelled a word wrong and it bugged me. Now that that's over I can tell you how much I like your picture. What I like most about your picture is the positioning of the camera, and if the camera was in a different place the photograph would not be as interesting. Your project is going to be amazing. Keep the good work up!

Mary - I agree with Kelsey - your composition on this one is great. I really like the idea behind your proposal with the advertising angle. I definitely think you have a good start here. You could approach this project a couple of ways - focus on one person (your sister if she could stand it!) and show the effects of media on only her - or get your friends/family involved and find times when media is affecting them, which shouldn't be too difficult. Also, try in some at least to get the media in the photo or even a diptych where the photo is on one side like this one and maybe a photo of tv/magazine image that may influence her on the other side? Just a thought. You've got a good start here.
